Mission

The project is built on a hypothesis that low stomatal densities can increase water-use efficiency without compromising yield at the current and future levels of CO2. The main objective is therefore to search for natural (epi-)genetic variants of pre-selected genes in a wheat diversity panel and mutant stocks, and to associate the variation with stomatal density.

You will be involved in:
► phenotyping of stomatal characteristics in 300 lines of wheat
► Enzymatic Methylation sequencing (EM-seq) of pooled amplicon libraries
► bioinformatic analysis of the EM-seq and phenotypic data
► crosses between selected mutant wheat lines
