The University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship on independent research of the applicant’s choosing that will fit into the research themes of the project “Natural disaster risks and socio-economic vulnerability” (Earth and environmental sciences, economics, mathematics, laws, human and social sciences, health sciences).


The project aims at studying complex interactions between societies and natural disasters, in particular volcanic risks in developing countries and the path between research and political decision-making. Research activities may relate to physical and socio-economic impacts of natural hazards, hazard–risk evaluation, vulnerability–resilience assessment, or risk/hazard communication strategies.
